A New Pigment Pad Dyeing System for Cellulosics and its Blends

ZYCOPAD System contains ZYTROL-616, ZYTROL-500 and ZYCRON (PL) pigments, CATALYST-MX and VELVETROL which are used for Dyeing operations by Padding Process. The process sequence will be Pad-Dry-Pad-Dry to produce pigment dyed finished fabric. ZYCOPAD can give medium and dark solid shades on cellulosic fabric and is suitable for knitted as well as wovens.

Features Benefits
No wet processing Prevents Water Pollution
New Binder Technology Soft feel
Solid Shades Even Dyeing Results
No Thermomigration Even Dyeing on both sides
Wet Rubbing Fastness Superior compared to conventional Pigment Pad Process.
Better Wash Fastness Superior Wash Fastness compared to Conventional Pad Dyeing Process
Good Light Fastness No colour fading on exposure to light

Preparation :

  • Proper desizing/scouring/bleaching must be carried out to ensure complete removal of sizes/fats/waxes, etc. from the cellulosic material prior to dyeing.
  • Now this ready for dyeing material can be subjected to ZYCOPAD System as per shade requirement.
[A]

X % ZYCRON (PL) range of pigment emulsion
3 % ZYTROL-616
Balance Water
———–
100 %

Add ZYCRON (PL) pigments or its blends as per need , dilute to required level with water , pad the fabric and dry.

[B] (1) Prepare stock solution as follows:
(X % is percentage of total pigment emulsion used)
1.5X – 2.0X % ZYTROL-500
0.1X % VELVETROL
0.1X % AMMONIUM CHLORIDE
0.1X % CATALYST-MX
Balance Water
————
100 %
Weigh the water. Add ZYTROL-500 Binder, VELVETROL and Ammonium Chloride followed by CATALYST-MX. Mix thoroughly.
  (2) Use above solution directly for padding. The formulation should be adjusted based on wet pick-up.
  (3) Pad the goods with this solution at typically 70-100% wet pick-up, followed by complete drying at 100oC – 150oC.
[C]   Finish the goods if needed, to improve the feel.

  • All ingredients are stable for 6 months if stored in a shade at room temperature in a closed container.
