ZYCOPRINT

SYNTHETIC THICKENER DEVELOPED FOR AQUEOUS PIGMENT PRINTING

ZYCOPRINT is a new generation of polyacrylic  thickener recommended for aqueous pigment printing system.
ZYCOPRINT can be substituted for emulsion in pigment printing.
ZYCOPRINT is a simple, highly cost  effective and safe product which leads to an environmentally clean process.

Features

Associative viscositty building machanism

New emulsifier chemistry

Water bsed chemistry

Good compatibility

Benefits

Reduced flushing of the print.
Softer feel of the printed portion, compared to the conventional system.

Replaces kerosene completely or partially, depending on the printer’s need.

Compatible with pigment printing ingredients.

1. Preparation of fully aqueous print pastes

A typical stock paste is prepared using some or all of the following chemicals (when printing 3-4% shade):

X% Water (typically 82-88% )
2.5 – 3.0% ZYCOPRINT
Y% Binder (typically 8-12%)
1-2% Fixing Agent (Melamine type)
100%

The consumption of ZYCOPRINT depends on the quantity of electrolytes and emulsifiers present in water and binder.  Fixing agents are needed to be used with fabrics made from synthetic fibres or those containing high percentage of synthetic fibres.

For very heavy shade like 8-10%, one may want to use higher percentage of binder.  Some additional quantity of ZYCOPRINT can directly be added and stock paste stirred for 10 minutes to obtain good printable viscosity.

2. Preparation of part emulsion system

X% Water (typically 65-78%)
2 – 2.5% ZYCOPRINT
Y% Binder (typically 8-12%)
Z% Kerosene (typically 10-20%)
1 – 2% Fixing Agent (Melamine type)
100%

Some  of the printers still use kerosene or other solvents.  In part emulsion system, the solvent level is reduced to 10-20% from 80% and additional thickening is obtained by an auxiliary thickener.  The above recipe can be useful for part emulsion system, with the following sequence of chemical addition:

Water   ->    binder    ->     ZYCOPRINT        ->     kerosene     ->    fixing agent     ->    pigment emulsion.

The paste is stirred for 10 minutes for full viscosity development.

There are many variations of the procedures for stock preparation.  Therefore the sequencing time of stirring should be optimized by individual Mill department.

  • Stir ZYCOPRINT carboy for 5 minutes before using for the first time.
  • Take the desired quantities of the material in the following sequence :-
Water     ->    binder     ->    ZYCOPRINT        ->     kerosene (if used).
  • Stir for 15 minutes till full viscosity is developed.
  • Add appropriate quantities of pigment emulsion followed by the fixing agents while printing synthetic blends.

Do not store in direct Sun or at a temperature higher than 45° C.
Always keep the cap closed after each withdrawal of the material.

R-55

SOFTENER AND LEVELLING AGENT FOR AQUEOUS PIGMENT PRINTING

R-55 is a new softener which is designed for water based pigment printing.

R-55 is designed to improve the feel of the fabric printed with ZYCOPRINT (thickener) and ZYTROL range of binders. It also improves the solidity of the print. R-55 is specially designed not to affect the wet and dry rubbing fastness of the printed fabric.

Recommended dose

It is recommended that with fully aqueous printing paste 2 to 2.5% of R-55 should be incorporated.

For part emulsion system, one may use between 1.5 to 1.8% of R-55, depending on the fabric softness desired.

R-55 should be used along with the binder during the preparation of aqueous printing paste.

  • Do not sotre above 45oC or in direct sun.

ZASE-5100

K-2000-B series of water based coloured inks are specially formulated for block printing applications (specifically for printers in Jaipur, Ahmedabad, UP, Kolkata and other areas).

K-2000-B coloured inks when printed with block give very good open time and give excellent registration with no bleeding tendency on substrates like silk, polyester cotton and fine cotton sarees.

K-2000-B coloured inks give extraordinary definition of print. One does not need to apply a lot of pressure for their registration and thereby eliminates smudging of prints.

Compatible with other K-2000-B coloured inks, K-2000-REDUCER & ZYTROL-500

K-2000-B coloured inks are specially formulated dark inks supplied at a printable viscosity for block printing applications.  The printer can reduce the viscosity by simply adding ZYTROL-500  binder or any good quality binder or water as per needs.

K-2000-B coloured inks have been made available in eight basic pure pigmented colours:  Black, Blue, Green, Orange, Red, Violet, White and YellowK-2000-B coloured inks are inter-mixable and being based on clean pure pigments allow the printer to generate bright and clean shades by mixing appropriate colour combination.  Due to extraordinary soft feel, ability to block out, bright and dark colour, these inks can generate very good quality prints on dark background.

K-2000-B coloured inks have the advantage of  being produced by direct printing with no smudging, bleeding and dull looking prints.  Discharge printing always restricts the printer to get reproducible lots of fabric.  The exact tone and colour matching of discharge print is always a tough task even for a skilled printer.

K-2000-B coloured inks will allow the printer to achieve good quality block print with substantial ease and reduce the rejections practically to zero. K-2000-B coloured inks can be diluted to formulate pastel, light and medium colours by mixing appropriate colour and White ink along with K-2000-REDUCER.

The extra ordinary fastness properties of K-2000-B and crock fastness of 3-4 with excellent wash fastness allow the printer to meet the tough standards which are to be achieved only by vat and discharge prints.  The new technology is likely to open up a new market segment with respect to fabric prints, using eco-friendly production techniques.

Stable for 6-12 months  if stored in a shade at room temperature  in a closed container.

Being water based inks, evaporation of water can lead to destabilisation of final ink formulation.  After opening the container, one must add small quantity (50-100gm) of water and seal it tightly to avoid water loss from surface and avoid drying of upper surface.
